Kenneth Eugene "Gene" Crockett (92) of Austin, Texas, formerly of Neoga

Kenneth  Eugene " Gene " Crockett, 92, of Austin, Texas, formerly of Neoga, Illinois and Carmi, Illinois, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017, in Austin Texas.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 31 in the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, IL with the Rev. Richard Coen officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Neoga Memorial Cemetery, Neoga, IL.

Kenneth (or “Gene”) was born October 20, 1925, in Neoga, Illinois, the son of Edward Floyd and Mabel E. (Seidler) Crockett. He was a retired accountant and a member of the St. Johns United Methodist Church in Austin, Texas.  He served in the United States Army during World Was II.

Kenneth married Doris Coen on July 15, 1951 in Neoga, Illinois and she survives along with their two sons, John Crockett of Houston, Texas and Thomas Crockett of Raleigh, North Carolina and also Tom’s wife Cynthia Crockett and their children, Faith Crockett and Christian Crockett. Other survivors include Ken’s sister, Florence Welton of Macon, Georgia and his sister-in-law, Arlene Crockett of Neoga, Illinois.

Mr. Crockett was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Herald Crockett, and John’s wife Patricia Crockett.
