Kathaleen (Hodson) Licklider, 90, of Shelbyville, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 8:25 a.m. at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 25 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in Mound Cemetery in rural Cowden.

Kathaleen was born September 1, 1927, in rural Lakewood, the daughter of Granville and Maurine (Smith) Hodson. She married Raymond Butler in 1946 and together they had two children, Karen and Jack. In 1977, Kathaleen and Merle Dagen were united in marriage and he preceded her in death in 1984. She married Horace “Ross” Licklider in 1987 and he preceded her in death in 2003. Kathaleen was an avid gardener and expert seamstress.

She is survived by daughter, Karen (Richard) Holzhausen of New Melle, MO; son, Jack (Janet) Butler of Mt. Vernon; stepson, Howard (Bev) Licklider of Decatur; four grandchildren: Todd (Lesa) Butler of Toledo, Travis Butler of Toledo, Zachary Rohrer of Ann Arbor, MI, and Kathleen (Stephen) Russell of Tallahassee, FL; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; four sisters: Joan Banning, Ruth Elliott, Emma Nelle Bates and Doris Soldner; brother Robert Hodson and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents and husbands.
