Emma F. Lawhorn, 68, of Mattoon, IL and formerly of Toledo, IL went to be with her Heavenly Father at 4:06 pm on Sunday December 16, 2012 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday December 20th 2012 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, IL. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 on Thursday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Mullen Cemetery rural Montrose, IL.
Emma was born on May 7, 1944 in Sigel, IL the daughter of Robert & Josephine (McClain) Boswell. A beautiful love story started on June 22, 1968 when Roy Lawhorn, Sr. married his best friend.
Surviving is her loving husband; eight children Ella (Dean) Mahnke of Mode, Susan (Melvin) Schwenke of Charleston, Tammy (Rob) Dunn of Toledo, John Boswell (Cheryl Butts) of Effingham, Twilla (Tracy Joe) Wilcoxen of Mattoon, Doris Brown (Kevin McKee) of Mattoon, Roy Lawhorn Jr. of Hillsboro and Paula (Damon) MacDonald of Mattoon; sisters Clara (Roger) Ervin of Newton, Betty Dossett of Greenup and Debra Cordes of Mattoon; brothers Bill (Norma) Boswell of Toledo, Joe (Linda) Boswell of Louisville, Ed (Sue) Boswell of Sigel; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Darrell and sisters Alice Wilson and Pat Glidewell.
