Carl “David” Lindsey, 66, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

As per Carl’s wishes, cremation rites with be accorded and no services will be held. Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to HSHS Hospice Southern Illinois, 503 N. Maple Street, Effingham, IL 62401.

Carl David was born on May 8, 1951, in Urbana, IL, the son of Lloyd and Betty (Brittingham) Lindsey. He was united in marriage to Karen A. Knowles on February 15, 2003, and she survives. David and his wife, Karen, enjoyed traveling on their Goldwing Trike throughout the Unites States. They were members of the Goldwing Riders Association. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially Rusty Wallace. David was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Joseph, IL. He liked doing projects and always kept himself busy. David was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

David is survived by his wife, Karen A. Lindsey of Effingham; children, Michael (Tori) Lindsey of Effingham, Christina Lindsey of Graham, NC; stepchildren, Tim (Lori) McCoy of Ashmore and Joshua McCoy of Petersburg; 9 grandchildren; and brother, Robert (Myra) Lindsey of Chandler, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and special niece, Karen.
