Madelyn Faye Wernsing, 97, went to be with her Lord on February 21, 2018.

She was born to Ben and Amy Baston in Effingham, IL, on September 6, 1920. Madelyn was a retired Library Aide from the Cotulla, Texas public school system and moved to High Point, North Carolina in 2005 to be near family. She was devoted to her family and many friends. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cotulla, TX and an associate member of Christ United Methodist Church in High Point. She was a kind and caring Christian and her departure from this world will leave a deep void for many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Amy Baston; her loving husband of 50 years, Raymond L Wernsing; and by a sister, Marjorie Baston Austin.

She will be deeply missed by her son Steve (Phyllis) Wernsing of High Point; two grandchildren, Michael (Noreen) Wernsing of Boise, ID and David Wernsing of Kernersville, NC; six great grandchildren, Matthew Wernsing (Amy) of Boise, ID, Alexa Montero (Marco) of Boise, ID, Brandi Wernsing of Kernersville, NC, Kyle Wernsing of Kernersville, NC, Roman Wernsing of Boise, ID, Gabriel Wernsing of Boise, ID; and two great-great-grandchildren, Alvaro Montero of Boise, Id and Rita Wernsing of Boise, ID.

Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham, IL will hold a funeral service at 11:00 am on Monday, February 26, at the Mausoleum Chapel of Arborcrest Memorial Park in Effingham, IL, interment will follow in the cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Christ United Methodist Church in High Point, North Carolina.
