Theo Quentin Swim, 90 of Greenup, IL passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday February 15th at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday evening at the funeral chapel. Burial with Military rites by Cumberland County Veterans will be in the Greenup Cemetery. Memorials can be made to either the First Presbyterian Church or Donor’s Choice.

Theo was born in Greenup, IL on July 16, 1927 to Harold and Iva (Ward) Swim. He married Rosalee Benson on July 14, 1951 in Charleston, IL.

Surviving is his loving wife of 66 years; Sons Shawn (Debi) Swim of Fremont, OH, Todd (Laura) Swim of S. Barrington, IL and Chris (Jeanie) Swim of Ft. Wayne, IN; Grandchildren Dr. Kyle Swim of Roanoke, VA, Dr. Tara Swim of Cleveland, OH, Porsha Swim of S. Barrington, IL and Ashley Swim of Denver, CO; Brother Donald Dean Swim of Greenup, IL.

Theo was preceded in death by his parents and brother Gene Swim.

Theo was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He retired as a US postal rural route carrier. Theo served as Mayor of Greenup and as an Elder of the Presbyterian Church, he coached little league baseball teams and volunteered serving the Boy Scouts and the Greenup Ambulance Service. He enjoyed spending summers in Canada fishing, playing cards, hunting, gardening and spending time with his family.
