She was baptized on March 30, 1952 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and on May 29, 1966 confirmed her faith at the Immanuel Lutheran Church where she has continued her membership. Paulette began her education at the Immanuel Lutheran Grade School, then graduated from Altamont Community High School with the class of 1970. She then received her BS degree in education from Eastern Illinois University in 1975.

Paulette then served as the activity director for the Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in Altamont before beginning her 34 ½ year teaching career at Altamont Interparish Lutheran School, St. Elmo, Beecher City and most recently at South Central School District in Kinmundy. Paulette’s family was important as well as her interest in teaching kindergarteners reading.  She was active in 4-H for years both as a youth member in public speaking and as an adult leader at the Effingham County Fair. She also assisted the Effingham County Fair servicing in the office duties during the fair.

Special in her heart was her ability to travel, her family and her support of the St. Louis Cardinals. With her numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins there were many forms of activities she enjoyed attending.
