Sandra J. “Sandy” Fruchtl, 83, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018 at her home in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 30 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Anthony Church or to the donor’s choice.

Sandy was born April 5, 1934 in Effingham, the daughter of Herbert and Geraldine (Tucker) Feuerborn. She married Richard M. “Dick” Fruchtl on April 24, 1954 and he preceded her in death on September 21, 2016. Sandy retied after 25 years with the Illinois Department of Transportation and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Effingham. She was an avid golfer and member of the Effingham Country Club for 40 years. Sandy was a fan of the University of Illinois football and basketball teams, the Green Bay Packers and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Sandy is survived by her three sons, Eric (special friend, Patricia) of Burnsville, MN, Jeff and Ted (Jenny), both of Effingham; sister, Nancy Rimkus of Augusta, GA; grandchildren, William (Emily) of Ventura, CA, Michael of Phoenix, AZ, Daniel of Merced, CA and Jennifer (Tony) Toste of Arroyo Grande, CA.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Steven; grandson, Joseph; brother, Lawrence Feuerborn and sister, Nina Schmidt.
