Marilyn Joyce Clark, age 77, of Jewett, Illinois, passed away 10:44 PM - Monday, January 22, 2018, at Heartland Christian Village in Neoga, Illinois.

Funeral services celebrating Marilyn’s life will be held at 1:00 PM – Sunday, January 28 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Virgil Cisney officiating. Burial will be in the Island Creek Cemetery in rural Montrose, Illinois. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Saturday. In loving memory of Marilyn, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Marilyn was born on September 3, 1940, in Robinson, Illinois, the daughter of Merritt Hershel and Florence Esther (French) Johnson. She married D. Randol Clark on February 21, 1963, and he preceded her in death on September 1, 2008. Marilyn graduated from Newton Community High School in 1958. She then attended Eastern Illinois University and studied business. She first worked for the ASCS office in Newton, Illinois, and then became a farm wife and mother. Marilyn was a member of the Jewett Community Church and the Jasper County Home Extension. Marilyn loved helping children by being a 4-H leader and serving as secretary for the Grove School PTO. She loved fishing with her dad and camping vacations with her husband and children. Marilyn enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching ducks on her pond and playing cards with neighbors and friends.

Marilyn is survived by: Children – Mary Nuxoll of Effingham, Illinois; Judy (Patrick) Cruebel of Stonefort, Illinois; Joann Stoten of Carthage, Indiana; Paul Clark of Jewett, Illinois and Ray (Amanda) Clark of Newton, Illinois; 11 Grandchildren; Several Great Grandchildren; and Sister and Brother-in-law – Betty (David) Clark of Newton, Illinois.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 45 years D. Randol Clark, brother Johnnie Wayne Johnson, grandparents Alva and Pearl (Dow) Johnson, Cecil and Mary (Tate) French, and Jeffie Blankenbaker and father-in-law and mother-in-law Howard and Mable (Coverstone) Clark.
