Marilyn J. Weakly, 89, of Shelbyville, passed away at 9:50 a.m. on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the Shelbyville Manor in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Pastor Ron Newman officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the New Free Methodist Church in Shelbyville.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Bowers and all the nurses and staff at the Shelbyville Manor for the wonderful care provided to their loved one.

Marilyn was born on August 12, 1928, in Flat Branch Township in Shelby County, the daughter of James Harold and Laura Mae (Pierce) Eversole. Marilyn and Donald Weakly were united in marriage on September 28, 1946. Marilyn was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, cooking, and playing dominos. She cherished time spent with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church of Westervelt.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 71 years, Don of Shelbyville; sons:  Gary Weakly and wife Carolyn of Bloomington, and Steve Weakly and wife Cheryl of Shelbyville; brothers:  Dwayne Eversole and wife Margery of Shelbyville, Donald Eversole and wife Shirley of Shelbyville, and Larry Eversole and wife Sharon of Assumption; three grandchildren:  Andrea Tilford and husband Mark of Normal, Brian Weakly of Bloomington and Josh Weakly and wife Kaleena of Shelbyville; five great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents.
