Ray Dean Schnautz, 76, of Pasadena, TX formerly of Clay City, IL passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 9:02 p.m. at Bayshore Medical Center in Pasadena.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 29 at 10:00am at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Clay City. Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm Thursday. Burial will be in Clay City Cemetery.

Ray Dean was born on December 27, 1940 in Sailor Springs, IL, the oldest son of Lubert and Erba (Fields) Schnautz. He married Kathy Schnautz on July 12, 1997.  She survives.  He was a truck driver most all of his life and was still working part-time until August of this year when his health started to decline.  He was a member of South Main Baptist Church in Pasadena, TX and also attended First Baptist Church in Effingham, IL.

Ray Dean enjoyed traveling, going on cruises and going to plays with his wife, Kathy.  He enjoyed going to Cardinals baseball games and Illini basketball games with his daughter, Debbie.  He also enjoyed his flying benefits he received from his step-daughter, Karen, on Southwest Airlines.  Ray Dean loved his Lord and he loved his family.

Ray Dean is survived by his wife, Kathy Schnautz; of Pasadena, TX; daughter, Debbie Schnautz; Pasadena, TX; step-daughter, Karen Hendrich and her boyfriend, Dennis Dunlap, of Galveston, TX; sons, David Schnautz and girlfriend, Diane Moyer, of La Porte, TX, Danny Schnautz and wife, Cammie, of Pasadena, TX; sister, Sue Ann Michels and her husband, Jerry, of Olney, IL; brothers Larry Lee Schnautz, and his wife, Rebecca, of Clay City, IL, Paul Dennis Schnautz of Clay City, IL, and Mark Steven Schnautz, and his wife, Teresa, of Olney, IL; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew.
