Kathy Jo Donsbach (62) of Effingham

Kathy Jo Donsbach, 62 of Effingham, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 27 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Island Grove with burial in Mullen Cemetery, Montrose. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Research.

Kathy was born September 14, 1955 in Mattoon, the daughter of Dean and Ruth (Kingery) Grissom. She married Dale B. Donsbach on July 2, 2000 and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Kathy was in the printing business for many years and spent her most recent years as a caregiver to some very special people.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Dale of Effingham; parents, Dean and Ruth of Montrose; her loving daughter, Kimberly (Romeo) Youssef of Oak Forrest; loving son, Cory Meier (Jeanne Ullrich) of Funkhouser; sister, Cindy (Mary Hartke) Grissom of Evansville, IN; two step-sons whom she loved very dearly, Micah (Valerie) Donsbach of Coatesville, PA and Derrick (Dana) Donsbach of Ft. Leonard Wood, MO; seven grandchildren, Jordan, Sofya, Jocelyn, Vadrick, Sarah, William and one on the way, Susanna Kathy; mother-in-law, Nellie Donsbach of Effingham.

Kathy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe and Josephine Grissom and Issac and Cathern (Walker) Kingery; father-in-law, Ben Donsbach; special aunts and uncles, Reginald and Deloris Flach, Buss and Reba Kingery, Warren and Ruth Cory, Lonnie Elliott and Richard “Dick” Grissom.

Special thanks to all the cousins who were at her side in passing. You are always there for us. We will remember Kathy as someone who always had a smile on her face and always knew your name.
