Johnny Collins, 68, of Strasburg, IL, died at 3:37 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Coles County, IL.
Graveside services with military rites will be held at a later date in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.

Johnny was born on December 29, 1948 in Hindman, KY, the son of Lawrence Edward and Marie (Creech) Collins. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. Johnny was a clerk at the Truckomat in Effingham, IL for several years. He married Sherrie Marlen Stevens on August 7, 1998. She died on March 18, 2010.
He is survived by his son, Larry Collins (Lois) of Strasburg, IL; daughter, Jessica Collins (Michael Snow) of Shelbyville, IL; brother, William Thomas Collins of FL; sisters, Harriett Elizabeth Coe (Larry), Karen Sue Bielefeldt and Nadine Unger all of FL; half-brother, Gary Cresswell (Lillian) of MN; two grandchildren, Brandon Edwards and Jeremiah Collins; and one great grandson, Braydon Edwards.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sherrie; and brother, Keith Ray Collins.
