David G. Elliott (79) of Mattoon

David G. Elliott, 79 of Mattoon, passed away Saturday morning, November 25, 2017 at Cumberland Rehabilitation and Health Care in Greenup.
A memorial service will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2 at Jake’s Discount Carpet in Mattoon. Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham is assisting his family with arrangements.

David was born May 6, 1938 in Toledo, the son of Floyd and Erna (Gast) Elliott. He married Sofia C. Angeles on November 4, 1958. David then married Patricia Kelly on September 4, 1984 and she preceded him in death in 2001. Over the years, he worked for Diepholz Trucking, Service Equipment, owned Discount Carpets in Danville, and later worked at Jake’s Carpet in Mattoon.
David is survived by his children, Rosa Davidson, Johnny Vasques, Gary (September) Elliott, Jr., Darla Carter, Mike (Peggy) Dow, Chrystal (Brad) Kelley and Shawn Dow; brothers, Randy (Donna) Elliott and Richard Elliott; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren also survive.
David was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia; brothers, Don, Wesley, Lonnie, Larry, Jerry and Bill; sister, Kathren Mann.
