Mae K. Blank, age 95, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 12:47 AM - Saturday, November 25, 2017, at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM – Tuesday, November 28 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois, with Fr. Dean Probst celebrating mass. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Monday at the church and ½ hour before the mass. In loving memory of Mae, memorials may be made to the St. Thomas School. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.

Mae was born May 10, 1922, near Boos, Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Ella (Hippler) Bigard. She married Ralph E. Blank on February 26, 1946, in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois. Mae was a homemaker and farmer’s wife. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois. Mae enjoyed playing cards especially pinochle and rummy. 

Mae is survived by: Sons – Gary (Mary) Blank of Newton, Illinois, Gail (Kathy) Blank of Charleston, Illinois and Keith (Pam) Blank of Newton, Illinois; Grandchildren – Lori (Chris) Rauch, Jennifer (J.P.) Kirk, Amy (Matt) Holder, Stacey (Mark) Goebel, Camille (Garry) Gordon, Erin Blank, Brent Blank, Travis (Erika) Blank, Mark (Brigit) Blank, Kristi (Anthony) Kessler and Philip Blank (Special friend Kayla Goodwine); 25 Great Grandchildren; and Sister-in-law – Eufala Bigard of Ste. Marie, Illinois.

Mae was preceded in death by her parents, husband, great grandchildren Isaac and Reese Kessler, brothers Sam, Gib, Gene and Martin Bigard, sisters Stella Ochs and Flavia Bigard.
