Juanita Fay “Bonnie” Reed, 91, of Watson, IL, formerly of Effingham, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, November 22, 2017, at Brookstone Suites in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 3 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Arborcrest Memorial Park in Effingham. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Effingham County Humane Society or the Salvation Army.

Bonnie was born on September 10, 1926, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Charles and Caroline (Wangler) Grigg.  Bonnie was united in marriage to Donald Reed on April 21, 1945, and he preceded her in death on April 20, 1998. Bonnie was a retired supervisor for G.C. Murphy Co., and served as an election judge for many years in Effingham and Watson. She loved her family, friends, and dogs while living her life fully. Bonnie will be remembered for being well-read and full of wit, always ready with a new joke or witty saying, and always ready to offer some practical wisdom to match any occasion.

Bonnie is survived by her sons, Gary (Debra) Reed of Watson and Alan (Marcia) Reed of Marshall; grandchildren, Tyson (Ulika) Reed of Effingham, Jeff (Nicki) Reed of Marshall, Todd (Sandra) Reed of Shorewood, Craig Reed of Marshall, and Casey Reed of Indianapolis, IN; great-grandchildren, Max and Molly Reed of Marshall, and Charlotte Reed of Shorewood; and brother, Robert (Juana) Grigg of San Diego, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; granddaughter, Heidi Ann Reed; brothers, James Grigg, Charles “Butch” Grigg, Jack Grigg, and brother in infancy, Wesley Grigg; and sisters, Jessie Goodrich, and LaVera Cox.
