Bobbie Lee “Bob” Russell, age 83, of Wheeler, Illinois, passed away at 6:08 PM - Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM – Saturday, November 18 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois, with Nate Hagen officiating. Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery near Latona, Illinois. Visitation will be held 2 hours before the service. Memorials may be made to the Meyer Funeral Home 307 West Jourdan Street Newton, Illinois 62448.

Bob was born on October 30, 1934, on the family farm near Wheeler, Illinois, the son of Walter and Estella (Elmore) Russell. He married Donna Swisher on February 15, 1992, and she survives. Bob had been a bulldozer operator and retired from Norge in Effingham. He enjoyed collecting and restoring antique tractors and farming.
Bob is survived by: Children – Kathy (Alan) Clodfelter of Neoga, Illinois; Jeff (Jane) Russell of Porterville, Illinois; Mary (Allen) Travous of Olney, Illinois and Bobbie Russell, Jr. of Wheeler, Illinois; Wife – Donna Swisher Russell of Mattoon, Illinois; Brother – Ed Russell of Plano, Illinois; 10 Grandchildren and Several Great Grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, son Steven Russell, Sr, brothers Calvin, John, Larry and Kenny Russell and sisters Anna Mae Osborn and Alatta Dare.
