Emma Marie Mahnke, 38, of Beecher City, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham surrounded by her loving family.

Emma was born on July 15, 1979, in Mattoon, the daughter of Ella Lawhorn and William Boswell Jr.  She married Brad Mahnke on March 18, 1995.  

She is survived by her husband, Brad of Beecher City; parents, Ella and Dean Mahnke of Mattoon and William and Lisa Boswell of Marshall; grandfather, William Boswell Sr.; sons:  Anthony Evans and Bradley Mahnke Jr. both of Beecher City; daughter, Cassandra Mahnke of Beecher City; stepdaughters:  Sarah Fleet of Pana and Brittany Owen of Springfield; four grandchildren; brothers:  Jason (Julie) Davis, Nicholas Mahnke, Zach Mahnke all of Mattoon, Josh Robinson of Pana, William (Lacey) Boswell of Marshall; sisters:  Amber Mahnke of Springfield and Caroline Mimard of Effingham.  Emma had many aunts, uncles and cousins that loved her dearly.  She always had a big heart and an open door.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Roy and Emma Lawhorn and Norma Boswell; mother-in-law, Jeanetta Ann Mahnke; father-in-law Albert Mahnke; cousin, MacKenzy Brown.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Burial will take place in Stewardson Cemetery.
