Gary A. Titus, 75, of Greenup, Illinois passed away at 5:40 pm on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 7 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday evening at the funeral chapel with Masonic Rites given at 7:30 pm. Burial will be in the Janesville Cemetery with Military Rites performed by Cumberland County Veterans. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, American Cancer Society or Donor’s Choice.

Gary was born on August 31, 1942 in Greenup, the son of Arthur and Ola (Snyder) Titus. He married Sharon Pagel on August 14, 1965.

She survives with their son Michael Titus of Greenup and daughter Julie Coffey of Charleston; grandsons Preston (Brittany) Figgins and Austin (Brooklyn) Figgins; great grandkids Jackson & Greyson Figgins and Braxtyn Figgins; sister Phyllis Mingus of Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Eleanor Sedgwick, Everrett Titus, Norma Ariens, Madge Homann, Retha Brock and Esther Oakley.

Gary worked in Maintenance at Eastern Illinois University for over 20 years. He was a member of the Army Reserve from 1964-1970. He was a member of the Eastern Star and the Greenup Masonic Lodge 125 AF & AM. He loved to pitch horseshoes and winning was his game.
