Mardell A. Goldstein, 90, of Effingham, Illinois passed away at 9:13 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2017 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 4 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham, with a 6:30 p.m. CCW rosary. Memorials may be given to St. Anthony Schools.

Mardell was born March 24, 1927 in Effingham, the daughter of John Sr. and Lidwina (Stumborg) Pike. She married Otto J. Goldstein October 12, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 2009. Mardell was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham, the St. Anthony Council of Catholic Women and was a local 4-H leader for many years.

Survivors include her daughters, Barbara (husband Ronald) Kesterson and Patricia (husband Charles) Platz, both of Effingham; brother, John Pike, Jr. of Effingham; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter, Rita and grandson, Chad.
