Thelma Louise Blair, 84, of Newton died at 6:36am Friday, October 27, 2017 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM – Tuesday, October 31 at Grace United Methodist Church in Newton, Illinois, with Rev. Amy Jefferies officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Monday at the church. In loving memory of Thelma, memorials may be made to the Meyer Funeral Home 307 West Jourdan Street Newton, Illinois 62448. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.

Thelma was born on November 13, 1932, in Steele, Missouri, the daughter of Lewis Elmer and Ruby (Stewart) Gean.  She married Allen Burdette Blair and he preceded her in death on April 16, 2014.Thelma was a homemaker, mother and grandmother and great grandmother.  She was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Newton, Illinois.  She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, fishing, shopping and going to car races.

Thelma is survived by: Children:Sharon Louise Garrard of Menomonies, Wisconsin; Alice Marie (Donald) Collins of Palestine, Illinois; Carlton Lee McGlothin of Jacksonville, Illinois; Darla Kay Jackson of Newton, Illinois; Carla May Harris of Newton, Illinois and Belren Lynn (Jo) McGlothlin of Newton, Illinois. Brother: Sonny (Sharon) Gean of Savannah, Tennessee. Sisters: Jackie (Milroe) Milford of Savannah, Tennessee and Minnie Alice and Margaret. 16 Grandchildren,43 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Delton Ray McGlothin, Jr, infant son; sisters Brenda Franks and Joanie Talley.
