George W. Brazelton, 83, of rural Neoga, Illinois passed away at 7:49 P.M. Sunday, October 15, 2017, in the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday October 19 in the Locust Grove Cemetery of Philo, Illinois, with Pastor Darin Hansen of Effingham, Illinois officiating. Military Services conducted by the American Legion Post # 71, Honor Guard of Urbana, Illinois. Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Illinois, 954 W. Washington Blvd., Ste. 305, Chicago, Il 60607.

George was born December 11, 1933, the son of John and Ruth (Carter) Brazelton. He married Joann Briggs on May 9, 1953. He attended the First Christian Church of Neoga, and he also served in the United States Army. George was retired from Sears & Roebuck Company.

George leaves one son, Gary Brazelton of Champaign, Illinois, two daughters, Sandra Whetsell (Shawn) of Sullivan, Illinois and Karen Huston (Dave) of Effingham, Illinois; two sisters, Kathryn Kelley of Philo, Illinois and Betty Steele of Urbana, Illinois; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; and his two precious "fur babies" Duke and Princess.

Mr. Brazelton was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Joseph, Jewell and Jerry Brazelton.
