Ina A. Abendroth, 83, of Brownstown, died at 12:04 p.m. Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care, Vandalia.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 21 at Fairview United Methodist Church, rural St. Elmo, with Rev. Nate Adams and Rev. John Heicher officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Gieseking-Claggett Funeral Home, Brownstown and for one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorials may be made to Fairview Cemetery Association of the donor’s choice.

Ina Alene Abendroth was born on Friday, January 12, 1934 in St. Elmo, IL to James J. and Lucy A. (Knaus) Feezel. She married Orville E. Abendroth on January 13, 1951, and he preceded her in death in 1998. In addition to raising her family she had worked as a waitress and housekeeper. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, Golden Years Club, Royal Neighbors and Loudon Home Extension and inductee of the St. Elmo Wall of Fame and a long-time member of the Sports Boosters and was a long time president of the Browntown-St. Elmo Little League.

She is survived by: her sons, Johnnie Ray Abendroth, Brownstown, Michael A. (Wilma) Abendroth, St. Louis, Paul H. (Carol) Abendroth, Altamont, Mark G. (Tina) Abendroth, Vandalia, and Timothy C. (Rachel) Abendroth, Goodlettsville, TN; brother, Elmer Feezel, Brownstown; sisters, Elizabeth Johnson, Taylorville and Georgianna Schultz, Mt. Vernon; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie in infancy; brothers, Clyde, Claude and James W. ‘Bill’ Feezel; sister, Gerry Lou and grandson, Josh.
