Robert Lewis West, Sr., age 76, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 5:30 AM - Friday, October 13, 2017, at his home.

Private family services will be held. In loving memory of Robert, memorials may be made to the Master’s Hands of Jasper County 104 North Van Buren Street Newton, Illinois 62448. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.

Robert was born on April 9, 1941, in Alliance, Ohio, the son of Lowell and Ruth (King) West. He married Jeanette (Cullison) Eaton Figg, and she preceded him in death on February 22, 2014. Robert worked at Victor Adding Machine, Malta Graphics, Brunning Company and retired from Cooper Lighting. Robert and Jeanette moved to Newton, Illinois, to follow his dream of opening the “Fish-n-Shack” Bait and Tackle Store. He was also a fishing guide in Newton, Illinois. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Robert is survived by: 4 Children – Kimberly West of Newton, Illinois; David (Lori) West of Watkinsville, Georgia; Robert (Tonya) West, Jr. of Montgomery, Illinois and Eric (Kimberlie) Figg of Ozark, Missouri...Sister – Lenora Mosley of Avon, Ohio...Grandchildren – Jennifer (Eric) Brunner of San Antonio, Texas; Henry (Kelly) Boonstra of Sycamore, Illinois; David West, Jr. of Geneva, Illinois; Patrick (Sherri) Figg of Ozark, Missouri; Paddy (Cody) Gorgen of Ozark, Missouri; Christine West of Watkinsville, Georgia; Brian West of Watkinsville, Georgia; Cassidy Murphy, Brooke Gilmore, and Aden West all of Montgomery, Illinois...Great Grandchildren – Jon Boonstra of Scycamore, Illinois; Hailey Boonstra of Sycamore, Illinois; Eric Figg of Ozark, Missouri; Lydia Rose of Ozark, Missouri; Kimber Grogen of Ozark, Missouri and special friends Donna Dorn and Ronnie Ellis.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 24 years Jeanette, brother Lowell West, Jr and two sons Roger Figg and Allen Eaton.
