Linda Kay Kreke, 67, passed away Wednesday evening, October 11, 2017 at her home in Teutopolis.

A funeral mass celebrating Linda’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 16 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery.  All are invited to join Linda’s family at 3:00 p.m. to pray the rosary Sunday afternoon at the church, with visitation to follow until 6:00 p.m.. Memorial donations may be made to the donor’s choice.

Linda was born September 10, 1950, at home in Effingham County, the daughter of Henry and Clara (Bierman) Zumbahlen. She married Mike Kreke on September 27, 1969 and was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Teutopolis for many years. Linda worked as a beautician and Mary Kay consultant for 40 years, while working on the family dairy farm. She was a member of the Effingham County HCE (Home Extension). Linda enjoyed dancing with her husband, Mike and listening to Randy Kemme and The Thunder Road Band. One of their favorite places to dance was in Texas. She also enjoyed planting flowers and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her husband, Mike Kreke of Teutopolis; children, Dean (Tammy), Dale (Jody), Jodi Isley (Eric), Ed (Mary Jo), Jim (Jessie), Gina Copenbarger (Chris), Tony (Emily); grandchildren, Hannah, Audrey, Devin, Michael, Amber, Collin, Scott, Andy, Toby, Emma, Brett, Jason, Lily; siblings, Pauline Zumbahlen, Tom (Dorothy) Zumbahlen, Donald (Fran) Zumbahlen and aunt, Mildred Koester.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Selma Zumbahlen; mother and father-in-law, Chuck and “Tudie” Kreke.
