Bobby Lee Bridges, 86, of Effingham, formerly of Stewardson, passed away at 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Effingham Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30 at Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor with Eric Bridges officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Grace Lutheran Church in Strasburg. Burial will take place in Swedish Lutheran Cemetery in rural Strasburg. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 4400 Clayton Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63110 or Grace Lutheran Church in Strasburg.

Bobby was born April 12, 1931, in Ash Grove Township, the son of Roy and Josie (Osborn) Bridges. He was a graduate of Strasburg High School. Bobby and Loraine Engel were united in marriage on January 1, 1950 at Grace Lutheran Church in Strasburg and were blessed with 67 years together. He farmed most of his life in the Windsor/Strasburg/Neoga areas. He also spent fourteen years working at Kuehne Manufacturing in Mattoon. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Strasburg where he held various offices throughout the years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Loraine of Effingham; children:  Cynthia (Bob) Roley of rural Windsor, Eric (Mary) Bridges of Augusta, WV, Russell (Belinda) Bridges of rural Stewardson; eight grandchildren:  Thaddeus (Denise) Bridges, Jennifer (Daniel) Bedell, Justin (Karla) Bridges, Chrissy (Joshua) White, Sandy (Bradley) Hoene, Katie (Michael) Schuermann, Jared Bridges and Paul Bridges; several great-grandchildren; sister Ruth McMechan of Neoga and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald Bridges and sister Helen Standerfer.
