Brett Devin Miller age 52 passed away August 13, 2017 at Harris Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Memorial services celebrating Brett’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 23 at the First Christian Church, 700 North Silver Street, Olney, Illinois with Pastor Todd Bettis officiating.

Brett was born August 10, 1965 in Evanston, Illinois the son of William E. and Margaret I. (Booker) Miller. Brett was trained as a chef, working in a variety of restaurants through the years. Brett loved to draw and, along with his brother Brad, designed a Red Hat quilt for their mother.

Brett will be loved and remembered by his mother and step-father Margaret and Jim Kermicle of Olney; children Dyllon Everett Miller of Carpentersville, IL and Sydni Lee Furr of Evansville, IN; grandchild Annabelle Lee Furr of Evansville, IN; brother Brad (Katherine) Miller of Los Angeles, CA; step-brothers Scott (Tina) Kermicle of Dry Ridge, KY, Rhett (Lisa) Kermicle of Morganfield, KY, Greg Kermicle of Huntsville, MO and Packy (Cathy) Kermicle of Olney; step-sisters DeAun (Sam) Blumberg of University City, MO and Shelia (Larry) Stoltz of Lawrenceville, IL;  nineteen nieces and nephews, Cousin Jeanie Wiseman of Olney; nine step counsins; and special friends Mr. & Mrs. Raul Murcia of Houston, TX.

His father Bill Miller, grandparents Everett & Mabel Booker, Max & Mary Miller and step-grandparents Gene & Noma Kermicle preceded him in death.

Brett battled alcoholism for many years which ultimately caused his death, robbing his family and friends of a son, father, brother and friend.
