Billy {Bill} Sharp, 83, of Catoosa, OK., formerly of Clay City, IL., passed away at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday July 30, 2017 at the Rolling Hills Care Center in Catoosa, OK.

There will be a "Celebration of Life" held on Saturday, August 12, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Clay City Banking Company Banquet Room in Clay City, IL. for friends and family.

Mr. Sharp was born on January 8, 1934, the son of Roy and Wilma {Stratton} Sharp of Clay City, IL.. He married Phyllis J. (Snell) on June 16, 1954. She preceded him in death January 23, 1998.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Chandler, TX.. He will be laid to rest in the Chandler Memorial Cemetery with Phyllis.

Mr. Sharp retired from the Unocal Oil Company. He served in the U. S. Army from 1956 to 1958. Was the former Mayor of Sailor Springs, IL.; Served on the Sailor Springs Village Board and was a Basketball Referee.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and {Greg} Thomas of Broken Arrow, OK. Two granddaughters, Angela and {Jason} Lusk of Plano, TX; Jennifer and {Robert} Hayes of Tyler, TX; Four brothers, Robert and {Dorothy} Sharp, of Manteno, IL; Gene and {Evelyn} Sharp, of Springfield, MO; James Sharp, of San Tan, AZ; Jackie Sharp, of Flora, IL; Five sisters, Thelma Fry, of Wooster, OH; Marcella {Arthur} Ellis, of Creve Coeur, IL; Phyllis {Gary} Vannote Muse, of Cisco, IL.; Carolyn {Steve} Snyder, of Bloomington, IL; Debra {Donald} Nix, of Salem IL. Several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents. Two brothers, Kenneth and Thomas Sharp, one sister, Dorothy {Sharp} Browning; Three brother-in-laws, Dale Fry, Aubrey Browning, and Jack Vannote. One former sister-in-law Shirley {Bailey} Sharp Kincaid. A niece and a few nephews.
