Jeanette C. (Ochs) Kuhl, age 91, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 5:02 PM - Friday, June 30, 2017, at Newton Care Center in Newton, Illinois.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM – Monday, July 3 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin, Illinois, with Father Mark Stec celebrating mass. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Wendelin, Illinois. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until mass time at the church. In loving memory of Jeanette, memorials may be made to the Holy Cross Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the care of Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.

Jeanette was born March 1, 1926, in rural Jasper County, Illinois, the daughter of Dan and Rosa (Eckel) Ochs of rural Ste. Marie, Illinois. She married John Joseph Kuhl on October 5, 1948, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Sainte Marie, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on January 8, 2012. Jeanette was a full-time homemaker and a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church.

Jeanette is survived by four children Therese (Ken) Rudolphi of Newton, Illinois; Marilyn (David) Carlson of Galesburg, Illinois; Kathy (Alex) Chang of Champaign, Illinois and Nancy (Steven) Baker of Rogers, Arkansas.  She is also survived by grandchildren, Trisha (Jeff) Hahn, Liza Kuhl, Joe Kuhl, Nicole (Damien) Worrell, Sarah Martin, Amber Rudolphi, Laura Rudolphi, Leah Rudolphi, Irene Carlson, Martha Carlson and Scotty Baker.  Great-grandchildren, Chase Kuhl, Trevin Worrell, Mollie Worrell, Noah Martin, Hazel Baker and Isaac Baker.  Brother Donald J. (Betty) Ochs of  Newton, Illinois, sisters-in-law Coletta Ochs and Dorothy Kuhl and several nieces and nephews.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband John Kuhl, son Henry Kuhl, her parents Dan and Rosa Ochs, brothers Leonard  and Jerome Ochs, granddaughter Rachel Rudolphi and great-grandson Braxton Worrell.
