Theodore W. ‘Ted’ Mueller, Sr., 72, of Altamont, died at 3:57 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Doctor’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Salem.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 29 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Altamont. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Care Center, Altamont or the donor’s choice.

Ted was born on Wednesday, May 2, 1945 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Marcus C. and Gertrude V. (Hein) Mueller. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He married Janet Heiser on December 3, 1966 and she preceded him in death on May 21, 1998. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Altamont. He retired after 19 years from Dixie Truck Stop, Effingham.
He is survived by his sons, Ted, Jr. and his wife Lori of Altamont and Kevin Mueller (Brian Allain) of Mesa, Arizona; daughters, Greta Mueller (Brian Forson) of Loogootee and Kara Morrison and her husband Matt of Beecher City; brother, David Mueller and his wife LeNien of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister, Ruth Winter of Altamont; 7 grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
