Jerry Lloyd Summitt, 60 of Effingham IL passed away Thursday June 1, 2017 at HSHS St.John’s Hospital in Springfield IL
As per Jerry’s wishes a graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday June 7 at Oakridge Cemetery in Effingham. Darin Hansen of New Hope Church of Effingham will be officiating. Bauer Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Jerry was born in Memphis, TN on June 16 1956, the son of the late J.L. Summitt and Sudie Mae (Diggs) Summitt. Jerry was currently employed at Peerless in Effingham IL, prior to that he was employed at Stevens Industries in Teutopolis IL.
Jerry is survived by his brother Gary Summitt of Ft Worth TX and sister Barbara Marple, El Cajon CA .Jerry is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and his beloved dogs Duke and Goof.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, father, brothers Frank and Bill, and sister Dorothy.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
