Doyle D. Abbott, 65, of Kansas and formerly of Jewett, IL passed away at 7:20 am on Friday, May 19, 2017 at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 on Wednesday May 24 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, IL. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Mullen Cemetery rural Montrose. Memorials can be made either to the American Cancer Society or to Mullen Cemetery.

Doyle was born in Coles County Illinois on July 20, 1951 the son of Jesse James & Veta (Maxedon) Abbott. He married Jacqueline Rennier on November 12, 2013.

Surviving is his wife; Three Sons Matthew (Kendra) Abbott and James (Jessica) Abbott both of Toledo and David Abbott of Jewett; Step children Derek (Andi) Kocher of Japan, Wesley Kocher of Kansas, Aaron Kocher of Marshall and Beverly (Brian) Knaupp; 11 grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren; Brothers Paul (Lisa) Abbott of Neoga, James “Rusty” Abbott of Mattoon; Sisters Lois Pugh of Mattoon, Norma Sheets and Leta (Kenny) Davis both of Sullivan.

Doyle was preceded in death by his parents; sons Michael, Daniel and Adam Abbott; Sisters Beatrice Winchester, Marge Moran and O. Bernice Moran; Brothers Van, Noble “Gene”, Jesse Jr., Glen, Ted, Ivan and Donald Abbott.

Doyle was working at Sherwin-Williams in Effingham. Doyle had also worked at Trailmobile for many years. He loved the outdoors and camping.
