Pauline M. Boos, 100, of Effingham, IL, passed away peacefully at 7 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2012 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Effingham. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Effingham. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham, with a 6 p.m. parish wake service at the funeral home.

Pauline was born on February 28, 1912 in Effingham, the daughter of Dr. Henry and Elizabeth (Eversman) Taphorn. She married the love of her life, J. Leonard Boos on September 26, 1935, at St. Anthony Church, Effingham. They were married for 75 years. Leonard preceded her in death on April 1, 2011.

Pauline was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Effingham.
She received her R.N. from St. John’s School of Nursing in 1933.

Pauline is survived by her children, Sister Jane Boos S.S.N.D. of Springfield, Jim (wife, Ruth) Boos of Effingham, Steve (wife, Lottie) Boos of Palm Bay, FL, and Kathy
(husband, Bill) Fearday of Sigel; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Frances Luchtefeld of Effingham.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; daughter, Dorothy Ann and her husband, Ron Welsh; sisters, Genevieve Bergfeld, Mary Wiedman, and Margaret Keenan.
