Myrna Shadwell, 70, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at her home in Effingham.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham, with Pastor Lucas Shelley officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham. Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham is assisting the family. Memorials may be made in loving memory of Myrna to Guardian Angel Adult Daycare.

Myrna was born on October 31, 1946, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Louis and Nelle (Stewart) Shadwell. Myrna retired from St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital after 42 years in the laundry department. Through her love of traveling, Myrna had visited all lower 48 states over the years. She had the biggest heart and was always willing to help family and others when needed. She especially was fond of her cat, Cricket.

Myrna is survived by her sister, Jan (John) Ferchow of Effingham; nephews, Stuart Campbell of Effingham, Scott (Lori) Campbell of Spring Valley, MN, and Steve (Carol) Campbell of Lenexa, KS; 2 great-nephews; 1 great-great-niece, and 2 great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Kay (Lee) Campbell and Gail Shadwell.
