Joseph "Harold" Cooper, 83, of Flora died at 7:30am Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at his home.

A celebration of life will begin at 2:00 pm Friday, April 21, at J.W. Neal Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will follow at Orchard Hill Cemetery at Louisville. Visitation will be from 1 to 2pm Friday. Memorials to Clay County Hospice.

Harold was born January 7, 1934 in Louisville, the son of the late Joe Sire and the late Bertha Ida Cooper. On April 14, 1953, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Lee Cooper in Louisville, IL. She preceded him in death on May 25, 2012. Harold was employed by the Flora Police Department for many years as a radio dispatcher. He was also an ambulance driver, member of ESDA of Flora and a member of the Flora Fire Department.

He is survived by son Lee Cooper of Flora; daughters Chris (Tom Hardy) Dial of Louisville, Pam (Danny) Lewis of Louisville, Vicki (Roy) Feldhake of Louisville, Toni (Alan) Linder of Kinmundy; brother Leon (Pat) Cooper of Flora; thirteen grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents and wife Phyllis.
