Loretta A. Bannick, 86, of Dieterich, IL, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Lakeland Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Effingham, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 12 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Louisville, with Pastor Joel Oschwald officiating. Burial will be in Dieterich Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home, 1110 N. Fourth Street, Effingham and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made in loving memory of Loretta to St. John’s Lutheran Church Building Fund in rural Louisville, or donor’s choice.

Loretta was born on December 6, 1930, in Effingham County, IL, the daughter of Erving and Gertrude (Meyer) Kampschrader. She was reborn as a child of God in the waters of Holy Baptism on December 13, 1930. Loretta married Willard Bannick on January 10, 1949. Loretta was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Louisville. She enjoyed farming with her husband, flowers, especially roses, gardening, and watching the hummingbirds. She also enjoyed spending time with her family but most of all getting hugs from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Loretta is survived by her husband, Willard Bannick, daughter, Betty (Jim) Emmerich, son, Rick (Twila) Bannick all of Dieterich; grandchildren, Angie (Chad) Lidy, Eric (Jeanne) Emmerich, Brent (Kera) Emmerich, Justin (Tonya) Bannick, and Brittany (Jon Yoder) Bannick; great-grandchildren, Chris Lidy, Kallen and Kenzie Emmerich, Rory, Gage, and Charlee Emmerich, Skyanna, Samara, and Hadley Bannick, and Jayson and Cassi Yoder.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters.
