Clarence H. Christianson, 79, of Blytheville, AR, formerly of Effingham, passed away at
2:20 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2012 at St. Bernard’s Hospital, Jonesboro, AR.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Winterrowd Christian Church,
Winterrowd, IL, with Minister Carroll Ross officiating. Burial will be in Arborcrest Memorial Park, Effingham, with military rites. Visitation will be held from 5- 7 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham.  Memorials may be made to Winterrowd Christian Church or donor’s choice.  Online condolences may be left at www.johnsonandsonsfh.com

Clarence was born on November 19, 1932 in Waukegan, IL, the son of John Henry and Hattie Myrtle (Branson) Christianson. He married Pearl M. Gephart on June 2, 1951 in Effingham, IL, and she survives.

Clarence was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant. He was ordained on May 5, 1974, as a Minister of Christ by the order of the First Christian Church at Caruthersville, MO. He was a member of First Christian Church, Osceola, AR.  He served the church as an Elder Emeritus. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0001, Little Rock, AR. He was an avid stamp collector and loved to read.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Pearl M. Christianson of Blytheville, AR; great-nieces, Cindy (Steve) Bushue, Deana (Mike) Harman, Angie Ladendorf, and Linda (Donald) Curl; and great- nephew, David (Roxanne) Santori.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and two sisters.
