Rosalie Estelle Hoover, age 85, of St. Peter, Illinois passed away at 12:59 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 28 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Loogootee, Illinois with one hour viewing prior to service. Pastor Krista Stokke will be officiating. Burial will be in the Old Loogootee Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Pagel Funeral Home in St. Peter, Illinois. Memorials may go to Old Loogootee Cemetery or donor’s choice.

Rosalie was born on May 23, 1931 in Farina, Illinois to Bruce and Gladys (Brown) VanSant. She married Seibert Leon Hoover on December 1, 1951 in Farina, Illinois. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and the Daughters of Zion. She was an organist at the Zion Lutheran Church for several years. Her favorite past times were crossword puzzles, quilting, traveling and doing crafts.

She is survived by her two sons, Steve Hoover (wife Dawn) and Greg Hoover (wife Julie) both of St. Peter, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Matt Hoover (wife Anne), Tricia Hoover, Nate Hoover (companion, Gina Galuzzi), Amber Foster (husband Bill), Aleah Runge (companion, Shannon Demain), Audra Arnold (husband Theron) and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce VanSant and Gladys Howard; her husband, Seibert Hoover after 61 wonderful years of marriage; one daughter, Gail in infancy; one sister, Frances Storck and one granddaughter, Melissa Hoover.
