Jessie F. Dial, 102, of Altamont, died at 5:40 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Lutheran Care Center, Altamont.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 8 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Rev. Willie Deuel officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Altamont. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the C.E.F.S./Golden Circle Nutrition Program (Altamont location).

Jessie was born on Wednesday, October 28, 1914 in Loudon Township, rural Beecher City, IL to Anthony Mathias and Mary Elizabeth (Kline) Grubaugh. She married George Glen Dial on December 24, 1932 and he preceded her in death on April 5, 1982. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church Altamont. She retired from the Altamont Garment Factory after 38 years, after which she was employed at the Altamont Grade School, Aloha Inn and Super 8. She had been a long-time volunteer at the Golden Circle Nutrition Center in Altamont. She loved dancing, walking and had never owned a vehicle.

She is survived by: sons, John ‘Pappy’ (Sharon) Dial of Altamont and Jerry Dial (Steven Tomaszewski) of Maryville, IL; daughters, Shelby (Curt) Riley and Lamina Buzzard, both of Altamont; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 21 great great grandchildren and 1 great great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Bobby Eugene Dial, daughter Patty Joann Dial, 2 brothers, and 5 sisters.
