Karen Sue Riley, 58, of Altamont, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at home surrounded by loved ones.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 5 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden. Memorials may be made to the Chordoma Foundation, 2525 Meridian Pkwy Ste 210, Durham, NC 27713.

She was born November 25, 1958, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Howard and Lenore S. (Harrison) Dunaway. She married Ralph Riley Jr. on July 16, 1976. Karen worked at Irwin Telescopic Seating in Altamont for several years, but she cherished her time as a homemaker and was a member of New Hope Church in Effingham. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, cooking and family time, especially with her grandchildren. Karen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Karen is survived by husband, Ralph of Altamont; four sons Nicolas (Nicole) Riley of Loreauville, LA, Gregory (Felicia) Riley of Belleville, Grant Riley of Effingham and Zane Riley of Denver, CO; four grandchildren Greysen, Cole, Kingston and Caleb; three brothers Gary (Kathy) Dunaway of Yorktown, VA, Steven (Betty) Dunaway of Peoria, Edward (Susan) Dunaway of Lakeside, AZ and one sister Kathy Jo (David) Shea of Gloucester, VA and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents.
