Raymond J. "Ray" Kaufman, 79, of Sigel died at 5:45am Monday, January 30, 2017 at Heartland Christian Village in Neoga.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 3, at 10:30am at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Sigel with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Thursday at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a 7pm parish prayer service. Memorials to St. Michael's School.

Raymond was born February 11, 1937 in Effingham, the son of Carl and Elizabeth (Gerbel) Kaufman. He married Marjorie A. Feldhake on August 13, 1960 and she survives. Raymond served with the United States National Guard and later worked as a supervisor at Mueller Company in Decatur for 34 years. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Sigel and the Sigel Knights of Columbus.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Sigel; two sons, John (Julie) of Decatur and Steve (Michelle) of Port Charlotte, FL; two daughters, Linda (Mike) Sanchez of Vasalia, CA and Patricia (Mike) Maxwell of Eaton, CO; two brothers, Louis (Maxine) of Stewardson and Don of Sigel; two sisters, Dorothy Kinkelaar of Effingham and Carolyn Hakman of Shumway; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Shirley Vogt and Mary Sheehan.
