Dean Sarver, 88, of Brownstown died at 12:57am Friday, January 6, 2017 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Rick Lentz officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, rural St. Elmo. Visitation will be for 2 hours prior to service time. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
 
Doyle Dean Sarver was born on Monday, October 1, 1928 in Strawn, IL to Herbert Leroy and Mary (Williams) Sarver. He was a retired construction worker and OTR driver. He married Phyllis Chaffin on December 27, 1949 in Fulton, Kentucky. He was a member of Maranatha Assembly of God, Decatur.
 
He is survived by his wife of over 67 years, Phyllis of Brownstown; son, Steven Dean Sarver and his wife Debbie of Meridian, Idaho; daughters, Pamela Vesta and her husband Richard of Fort Collins, Colorado, Debra Kulk and her husband Stan of Brownstown; brothers, Donald Sarver of Denver; sister, June Frederickson and her husband Leon of Ridgecrest, California; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
 
Dean was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Carroll Sarver and sister, Rosemary Conlin.
