Paul E. Bushur, 91 of Sigel, passed away at 5:17 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 16 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Sigel with burial in St. Michael Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorial donations may be made to St. Michael Church.

Paul was born July 18, 1925 in Effingham, the son of Anton and Clara (Kollmeyer) Bushur. He married Betty Jane Kaufman on October 7, 1950 and she survives. He served with the United States Army during World War II and worked at the Effingham Daily News for forty years. Paul was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Sigel, Sigel American Legion Post #1134 and the Sigel Knights of Columbus.

Paul is survived by his wife, Betty of Sigel; son, Tom (Julie) of Mattoon; three daughters, Krista (Tom) Beverlin of Newton, Pat Bushur of Mattoon and Paula Bushur of Effingham; three brothers, Bob Bushur of Stewardson, Carl (Dorothy) Bushur of Effingham and Earl Bushur of Mason; two sisters, Marilyn Lane and Diane Pullen, both of Effingham; fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jim, Jerry and Art Bushur; three sisters, Millie Baker, Loretta Hoelscher and Dorothy Bushue.
