Robert Henry “Bob” Zumbahlen, 77, of Dieterich, Illinois, passed away at 4:12 PM - Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM – Monday, December 5 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Island Grove, Illinois, with Fr. Bill Rooney celebrating mass. Burial will be in the Dieterich Village Cemetery in Dieterich, Illinois. Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 PM – Sunday at the church and ½ hour before mass in St. Joseph’s Parish Center. Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception Hall, HSHS St. Anthony’s Hospice or donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois.

Robert Henry better known as “Bob” was born on September 2, 1939 near Bishop Creek, Illinois, the son of Norbert and Viola (Habing) Zumbahlen. He married Alice Kremer on October 16, 1965, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Island Grove, Illinois. Bob served his country in the United States Army. He was farmer and hauled livestock and limestone. He owned and operated Dieterich Stor-more. He took pride in making sure his farm and buildings always looked nice and were well taken care of. Bob was a member of the St. Isidore Parish and Teutopolis Knights of Columbus. He was an avid card player, St. Louis Cardinals fan and was a volunteer in his community with helping with meals on wheels. Some of Bob’s fondest memories was fishing with his daughter and riding his golf cart around the neighborhood.

Bob is survived by: Wife of 51 years – Alice Zumbahlen of Dieterich, Illinois...Daughter – Amy (Donnie) Tolch of Dieterich, Illinois...Granddaughters – Samantha Tolch and Tomi Tolch of Dieterich, Illinois...Brothers – Ken (Karen) Zumbahlen of Jacksonville, Illinois and Jim Zumbahlen (Friend Tracey Tuman) of Effingham, Illinois.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law Larry and Cheryl Zumbahlen.
