Elaine M. Mitchell, 65, of Effingham, IL, passed away at 1:35 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 2 at Johnson Funeral Home, 1110 N. Fourth Street, Effingham. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Lillyville. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made in loving memory of Elaine to the family.

Elaine was born on January 10, 1951, in Mattoon, IL, the daughter of Delmar and Viola (Ruholl) Rentfrow. Elaine was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed cooking and having the family gather once a week for a special family dinner. She liked to read and do word search puzzles.
Elaine is survived by her children, William Mitchell Jr. of Charleston, James Mitchell of Effingham, Lisa (Rodney) Deain of Effingham, and Lori Wren of Mattoon; grandchildren, Cierra and Caleb Martin, Keegan and Zoey Mitchell, Harley Thomas, Hailey and Breanna Deain, all of Effingham and Brooke and Courtney Wren of Mattoon; sister, Kathy (William) Casselman of Effingham; brothers, Marvin (Deb) Rentfrow of Dieterich and Cletus (Cathy) Rentfrow of Effingham; 7 nephews; and 2 nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Richard A. Mitchell.
