Dana Dawn Ragsdale, 61, of Newton, Illinois passed away at 12:33 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2016 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 27 at Meyer Funeral Home in Newton with Rick Britton officiating. Burial will be in the Kibler Cemetery near Lis. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, October 26 at the funeral home. In memory of Dana, memorials may be made to the Fairview Christian Church. Dana was born February 22, 1955 in Sims, Illinois, the daughter of Don "Bud" and Norma "Babe" (Thomason) Wells. She married Douglas E. Ragsdale September 11, 1998 and he survives.

Dana was a hairdresser for over 35 years and owned and operated the Hair Affair in Newton. She also worked at Quad Graphics in  Effingham for eight years in finishing department. Dana was a member of the Fairview Christian Church and the Order of the  Eastern Star Chapter #497. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, cross stitching and quilting.

Dana is survived by her husband of 18 years, Doug Ragsdale of Newton; children, Josh (wife Pat) Wirth of Newton, Travis Wirth of Newton, Mikka (husband Daniel) Kellerman of Pinckneyville and Ariel (husband Justin) Gasaway of Newton; brother, Monty Wells of Mount Vernon; sister, Angie (husband Mark) Stedman of Greenville, S.C.; sister-in-law, Cindy Wells of Evansville, Ind.; nine grandchildren; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Mary Ellen Ragsdale of Wheeler.

 Dana was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Mark Wells and a granddaughter, Stormi Jolliff.
