Irene B. Ford, 72, of Mattoon, Illinois, formerly of Trilla passed away at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2012 in the Mattoon Health Care and Rehabilitation Center of Mattoon.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 24 in the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga with Pastor Toby Davis of Trilla and the Rev. John Morgan of Bloomingdale, Ind. officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 23 in the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 24 in the Arthur Cemetery in Arthur. Online condolences may be expressed at swengel-odell.com. Irene was born November 11, 1939 in Atwood, the daughter of Wayne and Ruth (Roberts) Appleby. She married Paul Ford, Jr. August 18, 1961 in Trilla and he passed away March 20, 2008. She was a member of the Good Prospect Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Trilla. She was a homemaker and was a former employee of Brady's Store in Trilla, the IGA Store in Mattoon and she did a lot of babysitting.
Survivors include, brother, Norman Appleby of Mattoon; sisters, Martha (husband John) Morgan of Bloomingdale, Ind. and Linda Elmore of Kokomi, Ind.; nieces, Penny (husband Jeff) Davies of Bloomingdale, Ind. and Pamela (husband Scott) Unger of Logansport, Ind.; nephew, Michael (wife Amy) Morgan of Delaware, Ohio; special aunt, Pat Appleby of Arthur; step-mother, Thelma Appleby of Olney and several cousins.
