Carroll M. Stuckemeyer (83) of Beecher City

Carroll M. Stuckemeyer, 83, of Beecher City died Friday, September 30, 2016 at Lutheran Care Center in Altamont with family by her side. 

She was born on September 29, 1933 in Effingham County, the daughter of Herbert John and Caroline (Wohltman) Diehl. She graduated from a one-room grade school called North School in Effingham County on May 28, 1948 and graduated from Effingham High on May 29, 1952. After graduation she worked at the Effingham State Bank for five years. She married Ralph Stuckemeyer on September 30, 1956 and together they raised five children. After raising her family, she went to work for the Effingham School District #40 where she served as a cook. She retired on February 1, 2004 after 20 years of service. She is a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effingham where she was a member of Walther League, served as a Sunday School Teacher, Lydia Guild and sang in the choir. She was an active member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church-Blue Point in Altamont.

Carroll is survived by husband Ralph; five children: Ronda (husband Basil) Goers of Altamont, Ronald (wife Lea Budde) Stuckemeyer of Beecher City, Cheryl (husband Jerry) Pruemer of Effingham, Carla (husband Ross) Cornett of Altamont and Cathy (husband Ronald) Loy of Effingham; 14 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren and sister Carlene Diehl Holste.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Donald.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, October 4 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church-Blue Point, Altamont with Pastor David R. Speers officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Care Center, Altamont or St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church-Blue Point Building Fund. Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Beecher City is assisting the family.
