Anna C. Gill (nee Meyer) age 80, of St. John, IN, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 1 at Our Lady of Consolation, 8303 Taft St., Merrillville, IN 46410 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Jon Plavcan officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Crown Point. Friends may visit with her family on Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave/South St, Crown Point, IN 46307. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Consolation.

Anna was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Crown Point. She graduated from College of St. Francis, receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Education. Before retiring, Anna taught at Lincoln Elementary School in Calumet City, IL. Anna enjoyed embroidering, reading, golfing, bowling, shopping, playing bridge and the occasional family card game of “Up & Down the River”. Anna was a member of American Association of University Women and many area book clubs.
Anna is survived by her husband, Paul L. Gill; children: Matthew (Karen) Gill, Christine (Robert) Wartman and John (Amy) Gill; grandchildren: Cassie, Dustin, Tyler, Lauren, Carolanne and Ariana; great-grandchildren: Miguel and Lilliana; brother, George Meyer; sisters: Rita Stumborg, Margaret Loudenback and Alice (James) Rhodes; sisters-in-law: Joanie Meyer and Mary Lou Perkovich.
She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Christine Meyer; 2 brothers: Aloysius Meyer and Richard Meyer; sister, Magdalen Meyer.
