Kay Frances Starwalt, 80, of rural Neoga died at 3:47pm Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 1 in the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga with Rev. Steve Massengill of Neoga officiating. Visitation for family and friends will held from 12:00 P.M. (noon) Saturday until service time at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Stewardson Cemetery in Stewardson, Illinois. The Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Little Galilee Christian Camp, 7539 Little Galilee Rd. Clinton, IL 61727 or Broadway Christian Church - New Construction Area, 1205 South 9th Street, Mattoon, IL 61938.

Kay was born March 12, 1936, in Atlanta, Illinois the daughter of Glen and Frances (Hoerr) Dappert. She married Charles H. Starwalt in Mattoon, Illinois and Mr. Starwalt passed away March 9, 2009. Kay was a retired school teacher, teaching in the Neoga School District and substitute teaching in Mattoon, a member of the Broadway Christian Church in Mattoon, IL, the Retired Teacher's Association and a member Y.M.C.A. of Mattoon, IL.

Mrs. Starwalt leaves two daughters, Betty Icenogle and husband Paul of Mattoon, IL and Connie Anderson and husband Brian of rural Windsor, IL; a step-mother, Ruby Rich of Newton; one brother, John Dappert and wife Sue of Robinson, IL; one sister, Glenna Sowers and husband Randall of rural Jewett, IL; four grandchildren, Barbara Roan and husband Pat of Bloomington, IL, Jessica Cooper and husband James of Chicago, IL, Jeff Anderson and wife Pam, and John Anderson and wife Kathleen all of Mattoon, IL;  great grandchildren, Kara Anderson, Kessa Anderson Laina Anderson, Laura Anderson, Lydia Anderson all of Mattoon, IL , Margaret Roan and Charlotte  Roan both of Bloomington, IL.

Mrs. Starwalt was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Charles Starwalt, one grandson, one great grandson; one sister, Nita Wellbaum.
